China Announces Countermeasures After New US Trade Sanctions

China has announced new measures against the United States following fresh trade sanctions imposed by Washington, escalating tensions between the world’s two largest economies. The latest developments under the China US trade sanctions dispute include restrictions on drone exports and penalties against several American companies.

China’s Commerce Ministry said the new actions were taken in response to what it described as harmful US measures affecting China’s legitimate economic interests. Beijing stated that it would take necessary countermeasures, including strengthening export controls on drones, related components, and advanced technologies supplied to the US market.

The Chinese government also announced additional restrictions involving certification and trade procedures. According to officials, Chinese certification organizations will suspend follow-up inspections of certain products, while some US compliance testing companies have been placed on a blacklist.

As part of the latest response, China imposed sanctions on six US businesses, including technology and research-related companies. Beijing said these organizations were involved in supporting US sanctions linked to China’s Xinjiang region and prohibited Chinese individuals and entities from conducting related business activities with them.

The China US trade sanctions dispute comes after Washington introduced new tariffs targeting China and dozens of other countries. Chinese officials criticized the move, saying the US actions could damage economic cooperation and create further uncertainty in global trade markets.

China’s top trade official He Lifeng also raised concerns during a conversation with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, according to Chinese state media. Beijing has repeatedly accused Washington of attempting to restrict the growth of Chinese companies, while the US has cited national security and labor concerns for its measures.

The latest developments have created fresh challenges for the fragile trade relationship between China and the United States. Although both countries reached a temporary trade truce after talks between their leaders last year, the new measures have increased concerns about renewed economic tensions and a possible return of trade disputes.
