Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed all provincial departments to implement comprehensive security, facilitation, and emergency preparedness plans for Muharram Security Punjab arrangements across the province, citing heightened sensitivities following recent regional tensions.
Chairing a high-level review meeting, the chief minister praised the coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies, intelligence units, and district administrations, emphasizing that Muharram Security Punjab measures must be implemented from the ground level to ensure public safety.
She instructed authorities to enhance surveillance in sensitive areas using modern tools such as heat mapping and CCTV monitoring along all major procession and majlis routes. Officials were also directed to ensure real-time intelligence sharing between agencies.
The chief minister ordered continuation of three-tier security arrangements, including checkpoints and holding areas, while stressing strict vigilance against potential threats. Field officers were asked to identify suspicious behavior and respond immediately to any anomalies.

Maryam Nawaz also highlighted the importance of Muharram Security Punjab in the context of recent security incidents, directing officials to conduct combing operations and maintain proactive intelligence coordination to prevent any untoward situation.
She emphasized public facilitation alongside security, instructing authorities to provide clean drinking water, emergency medical services, and proper route management. She also ordered removal of obstacles, debris, and open manholes along procession routes.
The chief minister further directed strict monitoring of hate material, enhanced traffic management, and deployment of mobile health units, urging officials to remain present in the field. She stressed that all resources must be used proactively to ensure peace and safety during Muharram.
