Iran Judiciary Chief Seeks Legal Action Against US and Israel

The Iran judiciary chief war crimes statement drew international attention on Saturday after Iran’s Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei said the United States and Israel should be held legally accountable for what he described as war crimes against Iran and its people. He said those responsible must face punishment and provide compensation for the alleged damages.

Speaking in Tehran during a meeting with a delegation of international lawyers and legal experts, Mohseni Ejei said Iran was committed to pursuing legal action against individuals it considers responsible for the alleged offences. He stressed that accountability should include both criminal punishment and financial reparations.

According to Iranian media, the meeting focused on exploring legal avenues to advance cases related to Iran’s allegations against the United States and Israel. The delegation reportedly discussed strategies for presenting legal arguments before relevant international forums.

Mohseni Ejei also accused Israel of committing crimes in Palestine and Lebanon over several decades, including allegations of mass killings and violations of international law. He said Iran would continue supporting what it described as resistance against Israeli actions wherever such movements exist.

The judiciary chief further stated that Iran intends to seek compensation for losses it says were inflicted on the Iranian nation. He maintained that those found responsible should bear legal and financial consequences under international law.

His remarks come at a time of heightened regional tensions following recent military confrontations and continued diplomatic efforts involving several countries. The comments reflect Tehran’s position as it seeks legal and political avenues alongside ongoing regional diplomacy.

Neither the United States nor Israel immediately responded to the latest remarks. The Iran judiciary chief war crimes statement adds to the continuing exchange of accusations between Tehran, Washington and Tel Aviv as tensions remain high across the Middle East.
