Iran has declared that it will not allow the United States to interfere in the Strait of Hormuz, with Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf reaffirming Tehran’s position during a meeting with a senior Chinese parliamentary official. The remarks came as Iran and China pledged to further strengthen their strategic partnership.
Speaking in Tehran, Ghalibaf said Iran values its political and economic cooperation with China and is committed to expanding bilateral relations. He described the partnership as an important factor in promoting regional stability and reducing international tensions.
The Iranian parliamentary speaker stated that issues related to the movement of Chinese vessels through the Strait of Hormuz had been resolved. However, he stressed that Iran would not permit any US involvement in the strategically important waterway, which remains one of the world’s busiest energy shipping routes.
Ghalibaf also claimed that Israel could attempt to undermine any future understandings involving the United States and Iran. He said Iran’s defense capabilities would act as a deterrent against any renewed military confrontation in the region.
Calling for a balanced approach to regional security, Ghalibaf emphasized that organized strategies and sound political decisions are necessary to reduce tensions. He said diplomatic engagement remains important for maintaining long-term peace and stability in the Middle East.
During the meeting, the Vice Chairman of China’s National People’s Congress described China and Iran as longstanding friends with a historic relationship. He expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries would continue to expand across political and economic sectors.
The latest comments underscore Iran’s continued stance on safeguarding the Strait of Hormuz while deepening strategic cooperation with China. The waterway remains a critical global trade corridor, making developments in the region closely watched by the international community.
