Iran US MoU discussions have advanced with Tehran confirming that the emerging agreement with the United States includes a ceasefire arrangement in Lebanon as a central component of the wider diplomatic framework.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Lebanon is explicitly referenced multiple times in the Iran US MoU, stressing that respect for Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity is a core part of the interim understanding.
He said the cessation of hostilities in Lebanon is considered “part and parcel” of the Iran US MoU, adding that Iran views the issue as inseparable from broader regional peace efforts and ongoing conflict resolution.
According to Tehran, the agreement also includes provisions related to sanctions relief, access to frozen Iranian assets, and economic reconstruction measures as part of a wider effort to stabilize relations.
The Iran US MoU reportedly calls for the removal of US primary and secondary sanctions, along with relevant UN restrictions, while also enabling the resumption of Iranian crude oil exports and energy trade.
Iran also said maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz is included in the framework, with coordination between Iran and Oman to ensure safe navigation and structured service arrangements for shipping.
Officials in Tehran emphasized that while the agreement aims to reduce tensions, it does not represent normalization with Washington, but rather a controlled diplomatic mechanism to end prolonged regional conflict.
