Operation Shaaban is continuing across parts of Balochistan as Pakistan’s security forces intensify actions against militant groups. According to security sources, personnel from the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, and police are jointly participating in the ongoing operation aimed at restoring security in the affected areas.
Security officials stated that four more suspected militants were killed during the latest phase of the operation. Based on official figures shared by security sources, the total number of militants killed during Operation Shaaban has reached 71, while 109 militants have reportedly been killed since July 5 in related security operations.
Authorities say the operation is being conducted through coordinated intelligence-based efforts and targeted actions. Officials maintain that security operations will continue until the threat posed by armed militant groups is addressed and stability is restored in the region.
Meanwhile, protests by the families of police personnel killed in recent attacks are continuing in Quetta and Ziarat. Demonstrators are demanding accountability and a transparent investigation into the deadly incident that claimed the lives of dozens of police officers earlier this month.
Two rounds of negotiations have taken place between a government delegation and the protesters. However, discussions have not yet produced an agreement. Protest leaders are calling for the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate the Ziarat attack, while government representatives have assured them that their concerns will be considered.
According to local reports, the bodies of eight police officers remain in a container near the protest site, while other officers have already been laid to rest in Ziarat and the Sanjavi area. The continued sit-in reflects the families’ demand for justice and clarity regarding the incident.
