Pakistan Avoids Energy Crisis Due to Timely Govt Measures: PM

Pakistan energy crisis concerns were addressed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who stated that timely government measures have successfully prevented any major disruption in the country’s energy supply despite ongoing regional tensions.

The prime minister made these remarks while chairing a high-level meeting on energy security in Islamabad. The meeting focused on long-term planning to strengthen Pakistan’s energy infrastructure and ensure stability in supply systems.

Officials briefed the meeting that Pakistan energy crisis risks were being managed through continuous monitoring and strategic planning. The National Coordination and Management Council is reportedly reviewing the situation on a daily basis.

The prime minister emphasized that energy security has become a central pillar of national planning. He highlighted that government actions have ensured adequate petroleum reserves and stable supply conditions across the country.

As part of efforts to prevent a future Pakistan energy crisis, the government is working on maintaining strategic crude oil reserves and improving energy efficiency across multiple sectors.

The meeting also discussed shifting transport systems towards electric vehicles. This includes introducing electric buses and motorcycles for government use and expanding EV charging infrastructure nationwide.

Authorities also briefed that solar energy users are being encouraged to adopt battery storage systems, while local production of high-quality batteries is being promoted to strengthen long-term energy sustainability.
