Pakistan Envoy Highlights Silk Road Dialogue at UNESCO Event

The Silk Road cultural dialogue UNESCO event in Paris highlighted Pakistan’s cultural heritage and its role in promoting intercultural understanding, as Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch participated in a seminar marking the International Day of Dialogue among Civilizations.

During the event held at UNESCO headquarters, Pakistan’s Ambassador to France, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, presented an overview of the ancient Gandhara civilization, emphasizing its historical significance and the strategic importance of Taxila as a key crossroads on the Silk Road.

She stressed the importance of reviving the spirit of the Silk Road through enhanced dialogue, respect for cultural diversity, mutual understanding, and peaceful cooperation. According to her remarks at the Silk Road cultural dialogue UNESCO, these values remain essential in addressing today’s global challenges.

The ambassador also highlighted UNESCO’s vital role in promoting dialogue, constructive engagement, and multilateral cooperation among nations. She said such platforms help strengthen bridges between cultures and encourage peaceful coexistence in an increasingly interconnected world.

The seminar formed part of a broader series of events organized to mark the International Day of Dialogue among Civilizations. It brought together diplomats, cultural experts, and international stakeholders to discuss the importance of cultural exchange.

As part of the celebrations, Pakistani cuisine was also showcased, representing the rich cultural diversity of the Silk Road heritage. The exhibition aimed to reflect Pakistan’s historical role in connecting civilizations through trade and cultural exchange.
