PIA Lahore Manchester flights are set to resume after a five-year suspension, while the national carrier is also restoring weekly Islamabad-Beijing services after a two-month break. The airline said the move will strengthen international connectivity for passengers traveling to the United Kingdom and China.
According to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), two-way flights between Lahore and Manchester will restart from July 1. The first Manchester-to-Lahore flight is scheduled to operate on July 1, while the inaugural Lahore-to-Manchester service will depart on July 2 using a Boeing 777 aircraft.
The airline said demand for the restored PIA Lahore Manchester flights has been exceptionally strong. All 310 seats on the July 2 Lahore-Manchester flight have already been booked, reflecting high passenger interest in the revived route. PIA also confirmed that bookings for 175 passengers had been secured soon after reservations opened.
PIA’s operations to the United Kingdom were suspended in 2020 following restrictions on the airline’s UK services. The carrier resumed Islamabad-Manchester flights last year, and the restoration of the Lahore-Manchester route marks another major step in rebuilding its British network.
In addition, PIA announced that weekly Islamabad-Beijing flights will resume from July 3. The route had remained suspended since April 10 due to the security situation in the Middle East. The airline said one weekly return flight will operate using a Boeing 777 aircraft.
The revival of both international routes is expected to provide more travel options for business travelers, overseas Pakistanis, students, and tourists. Officials believe the expanded schedule will also improve connectivity between Pakistan, the United Kingdom, and China.
PIA said it will continue reviewing operational conditions to gradually restore more international destinations. The return of PIA Lahore Manchester flights and Islamabad-Beijing services reflects the airline’s broader strategy to strengthen its global network and improve passenger convenience.
