Sri Lanka Cricket have announced a 15-member Test squad for their upcoming two-match series against Pakistan. Kusal Mendis will lead the Sri Lankan side as the team prepares for the red-ball challenge on Pakistani soil.
The series will feature two Test matches, with both teams expected to compete in conditions that could play an important role in determining the course of the contests. The announcement marks a key step in Sri Lanka’s preparations for the tour.
According to the announced schedule, the opening Test is set to begin on November 9 in Rawalpindi. The match will provide the visitors with their first opportunity to test themselves against Pakistan in the series.
The second Test is scheduled to start on November 17 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. The fixture will conclude the two-match series, with both sides aiming to make the most of the opportunities presented during the tour.
Before the Test series begins, the Sri Lankan team will participate in a three-day tour match in Islamabad, starting November 4. The practice fixture is expected to help the visiting players adjust to local conditions and prepare for the longer format.
Kusal Mendis will have the responsibility of leading the 15-member squad throughout the series. Sri Lanka will look to build their preparations around the captain’s leadership as they get ready for the upcoming matches.
