White House Clarifies No Deadline Set for Iran Ceasefire Talks by Trump

The White House has clarified that no official deadline has been set by President Donald Trump for a ceasefire agreement with Iran, dismissing recent media reports suggesting otherwise.

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt stated that claims of a 3 to 5-day deadline are inaccurate, emphasizing that the timing of any agreement will be determined solely by the Commander-in-Chief.

She explained that while Iran has been given a few days to present a unified proposal, this period should not be interpreted as a fixed or binding deadline.

According to the spokesperson, a temporary ceasefire may continue during this period as the United States awaits Iran’s response to the proposed terms.

Leavitt also noted that President Trump is seeking a consensus-based response from Iran and expects clarity on key issues before moving forward.

She added that economic pressure, including measures affecting trade routes like the Strait of Hormuz, has played a significant role in bringing Iran back to the negotiating table.

The White House further claimed that Iran’s private communications often differ from its public statements, highlighting ongoing complexities in the negotiation process.
