Trump Iran Deal: US President Says Military Action Remains an Option

The evolving Trump Iran Deal remains under international scrutiny after US President Donald Trump stated that military action could resume if a final agreement with Iran does not meet expectations. His remarks came during meetings on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France.

Speaking alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Trump emphasized that the recently announced memorandum of understanding with Iran should not be viewed as a final settlement. He said the agreement remains subject to further negotiations and approval.

The US president stressed that Iran would not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons under any future arrangement. According to Trump, the current framework agreement represents an important step toward reducing tensions and reopening key regional trade routes.

Trump also highlighted the economic impact of the understanding reached with Tehran. He noted that global stock markets have reacted positively and oil prices have eased following the announcement, helping to reduce concerns about wider economic disruption.

Addressing speculation surrounding economic cooperation, Trump rejected reports claiming that the United States would invest hundreds of billions of dollars in Iran. He stated that no American investment plans currently exist and clarified that sanctions relief is not part of the immediate agreement.

The president added that discussions regarding sanctions and broader economic measures could take place at a later stage. He also revealed that regional security matters, including concerns related to Hezbollah, remain part of ongoing diplomatic conversations with Middle Eastern leaders.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi welcomed recent diplomatic progress and congratulated Trump on what he described as a breakthrough toward regional stability. However, both leaders acknowledged that attention is now focused on reaching a comprehensive and lasting final agreement under the broader Trump Iran Deal process.
