Qatar Thwarts Iranian Missile Attack, Child Injured

Qatar Iranian missile attack claims emerged after the country’s Defence Ministry said its armed forces intercepted and thwarted an Iranian missile strike early Friday. Officials said the attack was successfully countered, although a child was injured by shrapnel during the interception operation.

According to Qatar’s Interior Ministry, the injured child received immediate medical treatment after being struck by debris generated during the missile interception. Authorities did not provide additional details about the child’s condition or report any other civilian casualties.

Residents in the capital, Doha, reported hearing several explosion-like sounds during the incident. At the same time, the Qatari government issued emergency security alerts to mobile phones, advising people to remain vigilant while authorities responded to the developing situation.

The reported missile attack comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States following recent US military strikes inside Iran. In recent days, Iran has expanded retaliatory actions targeting military facilities used by US forces across the Gulf region.

Qatari authorities said the country’s air defence systems successfully intercepted the incoming missiles, preventing greater damage. Officials have not released further information regarding the number of projectiles or the precise locations targeted.

The latest incident highlights growing security concerns across the Gulf as regional tensions continue to rise. Governments in the region remain on high alert amid fears that the conflict could spread beyond its current scope.

Regional and international observers continue to monitor developments closely, as diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions remain ongoing. The missile interception in Qatar underscores the increasing risks facing Gulf states as military exchanges continue.
