Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Truth Commission proposal has moved forward after the Kashmir Joint Action Committee formally responded to his letter regarding the establishment of a Truth Commission. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the committee had shared its own recommendations in response to his proposal, opening the door for further consultations.

According to Bilawal Bhutto, every loss of life represents a national tragedy, and addressing the ongoing crisis remains his immediate priority. He stressed that efforts should focus on providing urgent relief to affected people and restoring normal life across Azad Jammu Kashmir as quickly as possible.

The PPP chairman welcomed the committee’s willingness to consider the proposed Truth Commission as a possible institutional mechanism for resolving outstanding concerns. He also noted that the proposal has now received endorsement from the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, marking an important step in the process.

Bilawal Bhutto said he would carefully review the recommendations submitted by the Kashmir Joint Action Committee before making further decisions. He emphasized that meaningful dialogue among all stakeholders is essential to reaching a practical and widely accepted solution.

He further announced that consultations would be held with the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. According to Bilawal, the AJK premier will also seek preliminary feedback from the federal government and other relevant stakeholders to determine whether there is sufficient common ground for moving ahead with a mutually agreed framework.

Political observers believe the consultation process could help build consensus if all parties remain committed to dialogue. However, the outcome will depend on discussions between the regional leadership, the federal government, and other concerned institutions in the coming weeks.
