Pakistan’s Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal has responded to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s remarks ahead of the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections, saying that Kashmiris will support development and good governance.
Speaking at a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers’ convention in Narowal, Ahsan Iqbal said the people of Kashmir are well aware of the performance of both the PML-N and the PPP. He argued that voters would make their decision based on governance, development projects, and economic progress.
Addressing Bilawal Bhutto directly, the federal minister said Kashmiris know the track records of both political parties. He claimed that the public is capable of judging which governments focused on development and which faced allegations of corruption during their time in office.
Ahsan Iqbal also stated that the majority of Pakistanis support the development model promoted by the PML-N. According to him, the party’s performance has earned public confidence across the country, and he described the PML-N as a symbol of Pakistan’s stability and progress.
His remarks came a day after Bilawal Bhutto Zardari predicted a major victory for the PPP in the upcoming AJK elections. Speaking at a public rally in Kotli, Bilawal said his party would form the next government and represent the voice of the Kashmiri people on every national and international platform if elected.
Bilawal also emphasized that the future of Kashmir lies in the hands of its people, not any individual or political party. He said the people of Kashmir alone have the right to determine their political future and called for support across all constituencies in Kotli.
