ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Atta Tarar has said that former prime minister Imran Khan was declared medically fit after undergoing a medical examination at a hospital.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Tarar said Imran Khan was taken to a hospital during the night of August 20 and 21 under security arrangements. He said the move was made to ensure that the former premier received a detailed medical assessment.
According to the minister, Imran Khan was examined by qualified specialists, including an ophthalmologist, a cardiologist and a physician. The doctors reportedly assessed his overall condition during the examination.

Tarar said the medical team found Imran Khan to be medically fit following the examination. He also stated that Imran Khan’s sister, Uzma Khan, remained present throughout the treatment and medical assessment process.
The minister further said that after the examination was completed, Imran Khan was taken back to Adiala Jail at around 5am on August 21. The transfer was carried out after doctors completed their assessment, according to his statement.
The development comes amid continued public interest in Imran Khan’s health while he remains incarcerated. His medical condition has previously attracted attention from political circles, supporters and members of his family.
