Maryam Nawaz Launches Free Dead Body Transport Service in Punjab

The free dead body transport service Punjab has been officially launched by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz as part of a new public welfare initiative aimed at supporting grieving families across the province.

Under this program, government-operated vehicles will provide free transportation of deceased persons in major cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan, ensuring dignified and timely services.

The free dead body transport service Punjab was inaugurated with the distribution of vehicle keys to drivers in a formal ceremony led by the chief minister.

Speaking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said that the government stands with families in moments of deep grief and will continue to support them during difficult times.

She criticized private transporters for charging excessive fares during emergencies, calling the practice unethical and burdensome for already distressed families.

The free dead body transport service Punjab also includes strict instructions that emergency service personnel must not accept any money from citizens for transporting deceased individuals.

Officials say the initiative aims to reduce exploitation, improve emergency response, and ensure respectful handling of deceased persons across Punjab.
