Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has expressed serious concern that another US-Iran war escalation could cause greater destruction and have far-reaching consequences. He warned that a second round of conflict would be more dangerous than the previous fighting.
Abdelatty shared his concerns on Saturday while speaking at the IISS Manama Dialogue security summit in Bahrain. The event brought together officials and experts to discuss regional and international security challenges.
The Egyptian foreign minister said he was “extremely worried” about the possibility of renewed fighting between the United States and Iran. He warned that another escalation could have a major impact and create further challenges across the region.
According to Abdelatty, a second round of conflict would be more dangerous and destructive. His remarks highlighted concerns about the potential consequences of renewed military confrontation between the two countries.
He also questioned the possible outcome of another round of fighting. Abdelatty said further conflict would lead nowhere, suggesting that military escalation would not provide a lasting solution to the dispute.
The Egyptian foreign minister stressed the importance of learning from previous developments. He urged those involved to draw lessons from the past instead of allowing tensions to develop into another destructive confrontation. His comments reflected Egypt’s concerns about the risks of continued regional instability.
Abdelatty’s warning comes amid concerns about the wider consequences of tensions between Washington and Tehran. His remarks at the Bahrain summit underlined the need to avoid another US-Iran war escalation, which he believes could bring greater destruction without resolving the underlying conflict.
