Ishaq Dar Says Pakistan Balances Ties With US and China

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan diplomacy is defined by maintaining strong and balanced relations with both the United States and China. He emphasized that Pakistan continues to follow a foreign policy focused on cooperation and regional stability.

Speaking to journalists in New York, Ishaq Dar stated that Pakistan believes in engaging all major global powers. He said that having good relations with both Washington and Beijing reflects the country’s diplomatic strength and strategic approach.

The foreign minister highlighted that China has openly endorsed Pakistan’s policy stance on multiple international issues. He also reaffirmed that the friendship between Pakistan and China remains long-lasting and based on mutual trust and cooperation.

Ishaq Dar noted that Pakistan has agreed on a five-point agenda aimed at promoting peace in the region. He said diplomatic efforts are underway to strengthen stability and address ongoing regional challenges through dialogue.

During his visit, the foreign minister is scheduled to meet US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington. The meeting is expected to focus on bilateral relations, regional security, and economic cooperation.

Separately, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations hosted a dinner for Arab, Islamic, and European diplomats, where Ishaq Dar attended as the chief guest. Discussions focused on Middle East tensions, particularly the situation in Palestine and efforts for peace.

The foreign minister also met UN Secretary-General António Guterres. They discussed key international issues including UN Security Council reforms, Kashmir, Afghanistan, and Palestine. The UN chief appreciated Pakistan’s active role in promoting global peace and stability.
