Pakistan is seeking stronger Pakistan-Russia creative ties with the Far East through cooperation in culture and creative industries. The opportunities were discussed at the Eastern Economic Forum 2026 in Vladivostok.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia Faisal Niaz Tirmizi highlighted the potential during a panel on taking Far Eastern brands to Asia-Pacific markets. He said stronger people-to-people contacts could help expand cultural and commercial relations between Pakistan and Russia.
Speaking at the “Creative Far East: From Local Brands to Exporting to the Asia-Pacific” panel, Tirmizi highlighted Pakistan’s growing cultural engagement with Russia. He noted the participation and recognition of Pakistani filmmakers, designers and artists at major Russian cultural platforms.
The ambassador said cultural exchanges were developing alongside existing cooperation in trade, transport and media. He highlighted the Pakistan-Russia Road Transport Agreement as an important mechanism for improving bilateral connectivity. Media cooperation between the Associated Press of Pakistan and Russian organisations was also discussed.
Tirmizi identified film and animation, fashion and crafts, and gems and jewellery as potential areas for greater cooperation. He proposed stronger links between creative communities, participation in cultural and fashion events and collaboration on audiovisual content.
The ambassador also stressed the importance of better connectivity for expanding economic and cultural exchanges. Stronger transport links could create new opportunities between Russia’s Far East, Pakistan, South Asia and wider Asian markets. Creative businesses could benefit by gaining access to larger international audiences.
Tirmizi’s participation came as part of wider engagement at the Eastern Economic Forum 2026. Russian President Vladimir Putin also addressed the forum’s plenary session in Vladivostok on September 3. The discussions highlighted how culture, creativity and business cooperation could contribute to stronger Pakistan-Russia creative ties.
