9-Year-Old Girl from Dubai Dies in Lahore Water Park, Family Alleges Negligence

A tragic Lahore water park incident has claimed the life of a nine-year-old girl who had recently arrived from Dubai to spend her summer vacation with relatives. The child, identified as Rahmeen Fatima, reportedly drowned in a swimming pool at a private water park after an alleged safety lapse, leaving her family devastated.

According to family members, Rahmeen Fatima was the only child of her parents and was born after nine years of marriage. She had travelled from Dubai to Lahore just days before the incident to spend time with her maternal relatives during the school holidays.

The incident occurred on July 13, when Rahmeen visited a private swimming pool near Jallo Mor along with other children from her family. While the children were swimming, she suddenly went missing. Relatives immediately informed the water park management and began searching for her.

After an extensive search, the girl’s body was reportedly recovered from the third drainage manhole connected to the swimming pool. The discovery left her parents and other family members in shock and grief.

Police responded to the incident and registered a criminal case. Authorities also arrested the water park manager and two other individuals as part of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.

Speaking to the media, Rahmeen’s father, Muhammad Nadeem, alleged that the water park staff had opened the pool’s drainage system while children were still swimming. He further claimed that the drainage opening lacked a protective safety grill, describing the incident as more than negligence and calling for those responsible to be held accountable.
