Bilawal Bhutto Warns PTI Over Terrorism, Hints at Governor Rule in KP

Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has warned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership that continued political confrontation could create serious challenges for the state’s efforts to combat terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Addressing a gathering, Bilawal said political differences should not interfere with national security efforts. He stressed that cooperation between the federal and provincial governments was necessary to deal with the growing security challenges facing the country.

The PPP chairman expressed concern over the repeated terrorist incidents reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to him, the provincial leadership’s focus appeared to remain largely on political issues while the province continued to face serious security threats.

Bilawal warned that if PTI failed to cooperate with the federal government in the fight against terrorism, the situation could potentially lead to consideration of extraordinary constitutional measures, including an emergency or governor rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He also referred to the PTI’s ongoing protest movement and argued that the party had already achieved considerable political visibility through its demonstrations. He said Islamabad had remained disrupted for days because of the continuing political confrontation.

The PPP chairman advised PTI leaders to end the long march and pursue a political solution through dialogue. He urged political parties to keep the ongoing political crisis separate from issues concerning national security and the wider public interest.
