The Erdogan Middle East peace remarks drew attention on Friday as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for an end to what he described as Israel’s “provocations” in the region, stressing that lasting stability requires regional cooperation.
Speaking to journalists aboard his return flight from Kazakhstan, Erdogan said that genuine peace in the Middle East could only be achieved once escalating actions are stopped and long-term diplomatic thinking replaces short-term political calculations.
The Erdogan Middle East peace comments came as he emphasized that countries in the region should prioritize the rights and interests of their own citizens rather than external actors influencing regional conflicts.
He said Turkiye would continue strengthening its defence capabilities, expanding diplomatic engagement with NATO allies, and deepening ties with the European Union to support regional stability.
Erdogan also highlighted the importance of broader Turkic cooperation and reiterated support for the participation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in regional organizations.
The Erdogan Middle East peace message further included remarks on defence cooperation with the United States, including ongoing discussions regarding the F-35 fighter jet program and Turkiye’s indigenous KAAN aircraft project.
He added that Turkiye sees itself as a key opportunity for Europe and expects important decisions from upcoming NATO discussions regarding global security architecture.
