Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian has said Tehran is not looking for war but will not remain silent in the face of aggression. His remarks came after the US attack on Iran’s Larak Island over the weekend.
Pezeshkian made the comments before leaving Iran for Kyrgyzstan, where he is scheduled to attend an international summit. The statement marked his first public response since the reported attack on Larak Island.
According to Iran’s Fars news agency, the Iran President warned that Tehran would respond firmly if further attacks target the country. He stressed that Iran would not ignore any act of aggression against its territory.
Pezeshkian said Iran would deliver a decisive response to those responsible for any future attack. His warning came amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington following the latest military action.
At the same time, the Iran President said regional instability would not benefit any country. He warned that continued unrest could create wider challenges for countries across the region.
Pezeshkian’s remarks combined a warning of retaliation with a message that Iran does not want a wider conflict. Tehran’s position suggests it remains prepared to defend itself while opposing further escalation.
