Pakistan power supply update shows improved stability in the national grid, with authorities confirming that no load management was carried out during peak hours on April 29 night.
The announcement was made by the Power Division of Pakistan, which stated that better electricity generation from hydropower and local gas sources helped maintain uninterrupted supply during peak demand hours.
According to officials, hydropower generation reached around 6,000 megawatts out of a total installed capacity of 11,500 megawatts. This significant contribution played a key role in stabilizing the electricity system.
The Pakistan power supply update also highlighted that improved availability of local gas allowed additional power plants to operate, boosting overall energy output and strengthening grid performance across the country.
Authorities noted that electricity transmission improved further, with an additional 100 megawatts supplied to the central grid and up to 500 megawatts transmitted from the southern region, ensuring better distribution.
However, officials acknowledged ongoing challenges, including the temporary shutdown of power plants with a combined capacity of 4,700 megawatts due to limited liquefied natural gas availability in global markets.
Despite these issues, the situation is expected to improve as fuel supplies stabilize and water releases increase, which could further reduce nighttime shortages and enhance long-term energy reliability.
