Information Ministry Challenges Afghan Taliban Account of Angoor Adda Incident

Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has rejected the Afghan Taliban regime’s statement regarding the Angoor Adda incident, describing it as false and fabricated. According to the ministry, the account presented by the Afghan Taliban does not accurately reflect the events surrounding the incident.

In its statement, the ministry alleged that Afghan Taliban forces opened unprovoked fire on civilians inside Pakistani territory and fired mortar shells. Pakistani authorities described the reported actions as a serious security concern in the border region.

The ministry further alleged that the firing was part of a pattern directed by India and supported by proxy elements. This remains an allegation made by Pakistani authorities, and independent evidence would be needed to establish the claim conclusively.

According to the official statement, Pakistan’s security forces responded promptly to what the ministry described as Afghan Taliban aggression. The ministry claimed that seven Taliban posts were destroyed during the response and that the Afghan Taliban suffered significant personnel and material losses. Independent verification of these reported losses was not provided in the supplied account.

The ministry also accused the Afghan Taliban leadership of misleading its own population through false narratives. Pakistani officials maintained that the Taliban regime’s statement did not accurately represent the situation surrounding the Angoor Adda incident.

Angoor Adda is located in the Pakistan-Afghanistan border region, where security incidents can affect relations between the two neighbouring countries. Border security, civilian protection and efforts to prevent further escalation remain important issues for both sides.
