Imran Khan health concerns have once again drawn attention after the former prime minister’s sons, Kasim and Sulaiman, spoke about their father’s condition in a new CNN interview. They said they remain worried due to limited access to his medical information.
The interview was released as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) marked three years since Imran Khan was imprisoned on August 5, 2023. His family and party members have repeatedly raised questions about his health and access to doctors.
Speaking from London, Kasim and Sulaiman said they had received no recent updates because family members, lawyers, and personal doctors had reportedly not been allowed to meet him for several months. They said the situation had increased their concerns.
Kasim stated that although the Islamabad High Court had ordered regular phone contact, communication remained difficult. The brothers also claimed that visa-related issues had prevented them from travelling to Pakistan to visit their father.
The Pakistani government has rejected the allegations, saying the brothers are welcome to visit using their overseas identity documents. Officials described their statements as misleading and said administrative matters were being presented as a political issue.
The issue of Imran Khan health concerns has remained a major topic among PTI supporters, especially after reports of his eye condition emerged earlier this year. Opposition leaders have demanded greater transparency regarding his treatment and meetings with personal physicians.
Imran Khan is currently serving prison sentences in multiple cases, while PTI continues to demand his release. His sons said they believe any future political settlement should also consider other detained political workers. The government maintains that legal procedures are being followed.
