Pakistan Protests Indian BSF Firing That Killed 2 Citizens

Pakistan has lodged a strong protest over Indian BSF firing that killed two Pakistani citizens in the Bedian sector. The Foreign Office summoned India’s chargé d’affaires over the incident.

According to the Foreign Office, personnel of India’s Border Security Force opened fire on two Pakistani citizens in the sector. Both citizens were killed in the incident, prompting Pakistan to formally raise the matter with India.

The Foreign Office described the Indian BSF firing at unarmed civilians as unjustified. It also rejected India’s reported attempt to describe the deceased citizens as infiltrators.

Pakistan said the incident represents a serious violation of fundamental human rights, including the right to life. The Foreign Office stressed that civilians must be protected and that such incidents require accountability.

The Foreign Office called for an immediate, transparent and credible investigation into the Indian BSF firing. Pakistan also demanded legal and departmental action against the personnel responsible for the deaths.

In a letter handed to India’s chargé d’affaires, Pakistan asked New Delhi to share the findings of its investigation. It also called for information about action taken against those found responsible for the incident.

Pakistan further urged India to respect fundamental human rights and international law. It called for maximum restraint in handling border-related matters and demanded effective measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
