Farooq Sattar Calls for Six Administrative Units in Sindh

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) senior leader and Member of the National Assembly Farooq Sattar has called for the establishment of six administrative units in Sindh without dividing the province geographically.

Speaking to the media during his visit to a poetry gathering organized by the All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organisation (APMSO) at the University of Karachi, Farooq Sattar said the proposed administrative structure would help bring government services, rights and resources closer to the people.

According to Farooq Sattar, the six administrative units would be based around Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Larkana, Sukkur and Mirpurkhas. He said the arrangement could enable residents of these areas to receive their due share of resources and administrative services more efficiently.

The MQM-P leader also linked the proposed administrative reforms with the issue of domicile certificates. He said the creation of administrative units could help address the issue of alleged fake domiciles and ensure greater transparency in the distribution of opportunities and resources.

Farooq Sattar stressed that the proposal would not involve the geographical division of Sindh. Instead, he described it as an administrative arrangement aimed at improving governance and ensuring that public resources reach citizens at their doorstep.

During his interaction with journalists, Farooq Sattar also raised the issue of the BRT accident. He called for an investigation into the incident by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), seeking scrutiny of the circumstances surrounding the accident.
