Pakistan Railways Police Recover Stolen Railway Material Worth Millions in Karachi

The Pakistan Railways Police Operation in Karachi has led to the recovery of stolen railway assets worth millions of rupees, marking another significant step in protecting the country’s transportation infrastructure. Officials confirmed that the successful raid resulted in the seizure of railway tracks and a large quantity of stolen railway material.

According to Pakistan Railways Police, the operation was carried out in Karachi following intelligence about the illegal storage and theft of railway property. During the raid, authorities recovered approximately 32 tons of railway material, including stolen railway tracks believed to be part of the national rail network.

Police officials stated that four suspects were arrested during the operation in the Orangi Town area. The accused were allegedly involved in cutting and stealing railway tracks and were taken into custody along with equipment and tools reportedly used to dismantle the railway infrastructure.

Investigators believe the recovered material was intended for illegal sale in the scrap market. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine whether the suspects are linked to a larger network involved in the theft and trade of public infrastructure materials.

The Inspector General of Pakistan Railways Police emphasized that strict action will continue against individuals responsible for stealing railway property and damaging national assets. He stated that law enforcement agencies will intensify operations to prevent similar incidents and ensure the protection of railway infrastructure across the country.

Railway officials have repeatedly warned that the theft of tracks and related equipment not only causes financial losses but also creates serious safety risks for train operations. Preventing such crimes remains a top priority for authorities responsible for maintaining the country’s railway system.
