Switzerland has welcomed the recently signed US-Iran Peace Plan, describing it as an important step toward reducing tensions and promoting stability in the region. Swiss officials confirmed that representatives from both countries are expected to begin implementation talks in Burgenstock on Friday.
In an official statement, the Swiss Foreign Ministry said the signing of the US-Iran Peace Plan marked a significant diplomatic breakthrough. The ministry noted that constructive dialogue remains essential for preventing further escalation and encouraging long-term regional peace.
According to Swiss authorities, delegates from the United States and Iran will meet alongside mediators from Pakistan and Qatar, as well as other participating countries. The talks are expected to focus on the practical implementation of commitments outlined in the agreement.
Iranian officials announced that the memorandum had become fully effective after being formally signed by the presidents of both countries. The agreement, widely referred to as the Islamabad Memorandum, is intended to provide a framework for resolving key disputes through diplomatic engagement.
The US-Iran Peace Plan reportedly includes provisions aimed at addressing issues related to Iran’s nuclear programme and sanctions relief. Iranian officials stated that negotiations under the agreement would remain focused on these subjects during the upcoming discussions.
