Pakistan SCO Business Council 2027 became a major focus after the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) confirmed that Pakistan will assume the chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Business Council in 2027. The announcement was made following the SCO Business Council board meeting held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, where FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh represented Pakistan.
The upcoming chairmanship marks an important milestone for Pakistan’s business community and reflects the confidence of SCO member states in the country’s constructive role within the regional organization. FPCCI believes this leadership position will provide new opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation and expand commercial partnerships across the SCO region.
Leading the Pakistani delegation, Atif Ikram Sheikh highlighted Pakistan’s strategic geographic location and its growing investment potential. He emphasized that stronger collaboration between public and private sectors can unlock significant economic opportunities while improving trade and investment among SCO member countries.
During the meeting, delegates discussed ways to improve regional connectivity, facilitate cross-border trade, and encourage joint ventures. Special attention was given to sectors including industry, agriculture, energy, information technology, logistics, and infrastructure development, all considered essential for sustainable regional growth.
Pakistan SCO Business Council 2027 is expected to enhance the country’s role in shaping future economic initiatives within the organization.
