Trump Says Iran Wants Talks Amid Rising US Pressure

US Iran talks Trump have gained renewed attention after US President Donald Trump stated that Iran is showing interest in negotiations with Washington. He said discussions are ongoing with “authorised figures” inside Iran who have decision-making power.

Speaking to a British news agency, Trump said Iran wants to reach a possible agreement, and the US is evaluating what kind of proposal Tehran may present. The developments come amid rising geopolitical tensions in the region.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington is increasing economic pressure on Iran. He confirmed that the US is taking decisive action to block Iran’s oil trade and weaken networks supporting its exports.

As part of this strategy, the US Treasury Department announced new sanctions targeting Iran-related entities, including a China-based oil refinery, 40 shipping companies, and an oil tanker involved in crude transportation.

The US Iran talks Trump narrative comes alongside a broader “economic pressure campaign” aimed at restricting Iran’s ability to sell oil globally. US officials say these measures are intended to reduce Tehran’s financial capabilities.

Meanwhile, the US Central Command reported that American forces intercepted another Iranian-flagged vessel. The ship was reportedly heading toward an Iranian port and was stopped for allegedly violating maritime restrictions.

Officials say the situation remains fluid, with diplomacy and sanctions running in parallel as Washington continues to pressure Tehran while keeping the possibility of negotiations open.
